2013-06-07_1535-632x435Did you catch us on KC Live on Friday? Our very own Executive Chef and Co-Owner, Francisco Bautista, was featured on the popular morning show on June 7th, and cooked up one of our most popular appetizers: Fruttie Di Mare, meaning “Fruit of the Sea”.

Chef Francisco had a great time on set with TV personality Brett Anthony, and even shared the family recipe with Kansas City viewers. We’re happy to share the recipe with you, as well!

Fruttie di Mare

1 tsp. butter
1 tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 tsp. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. Fresh ground garlic
¼ cup white wine
¼ cup chicken stock
Pinch of:
Salt
Pepper

Freshly chopped parsley
Red pepper flakes
Saffron3 large scallops
3 Jumbo Prawns (13/15)
1 cup chopped  Squid (body and tentacle)
4 Green lip Mussels (with shell)
4 large Clams (with shell)

You can enjoy our Fruttie di Mare appetizer for lunch or dinner at our Brookside location, and according to Chef Francisco, it pairs well with a nice white wine!
